Sunrise trip + breakfast Feuerkogel

You start early in the morning with the mountain railway to the Feuerkogel. At the top, an atmospheric sunrise over Lake Traunsee in the Salzkammergut awaits you - followed by a cosy mountain breakfast in the Feuerkogelhaus. Afterwards, the tour continues: Upper Austria's sunniest high plateau invites you to hikes with great views, e.g. the Europakreuz, sporty mountain tours, relaxed climbing fun on the Alberfeldkogel or simply to unwind and enjoy the mountain summer.

Sunrise trip:

  • Date = 16 August 2025

  • Start = Cable car ascent at 5:30 am

  • Sunrise = 6:05 am

  • Breakfast Feuerkogelhaus = 7:00 am to 8:30 am

  • Last cable car descent = 6 pm

Attention: Please arrive at the meeting point (valley station of the Feuerkogel cable car) 20 minutes BEFORE departure.

The sunrise is best observed around the Feuerkogel mountain station!

  • at the Feuerkogel mountain station

  • from the viewing point behind the Christophorus Chapel

  • or on the hiking trail toward the Kranabeth Hut

Do not forget!

Remember to bring warm clothing and a torch or headlamp for the early morning hours - this will make your mountain experience safe and cosy.

The sun rises behind striking mountain peaks, warm light falls on a hut roof and flowering alpine meadow.

The sunrise tour can only take place in suitable weather conditions! The participants of the sunrise tour will be informed in good time of any weather-related cancellation and postponement to the alternative date on 23.08.2025.

  • All prices incl. 10 % VAT and in Euro.

  • Prices valid summer season 2025

  • By registering, you agree to participate in the sunrise trip with breakfast at Feuerkogel.

  • Limited number of participants: Places in the chapel are limited - early registration recommended.

  • Note: The sunrise trip can only be carried out in suitable weather conditions! The participants of the sunrise trip will be informed in good time of any weather-related cancellation and postponement to the alternative date on 23.08.2025.

  • Dogs must be kept on a lead and muzzle. Tickets for dogs are available in the online shop or at the ticket office.
