Start summer operation: 9 May 2029

On Saturday, procurist Gabriel Sieghartsleitner and site manager Kurt Reiter from the cable car operator Bergbahnen Feuerkogel presented a donation to the team of Ebensee mountain rescue.

The funds will go towards the construction of the new mountain rescue hut on the Feuerkogel. To ensure fast and effective assistance in the future, modern infrastructure for the mountain rescue service is indispensable.

We would like to sincerely thank Ebensee mountain rescue for their tireless commitment and the excellent cooperation with Feuerkogel cable cars.

On May 13, 2025, the Europe Cross at Feuerkogel was ceremoniously expanded with stones from Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania. With this addition, all EU member states are now represented at the Europe Cross – a powerful symbol of unity, diversity, and peace in the heart of the mountains.

The cross was created by dedicated students from the HTL Wels – a project that impressively brings to life the European Union’s motto: “United in diversity.”

A heartfelt thank you to HTL Wels, the European Commission – Representation in Austria with Christian Wigand, Europe Direct, Regional Councillor Markus Achleitner, the Municipality of Ebensee with Mayor Sabine Promberger, and Rupert Schiefer, CEO of the Bergbahnen Dachstein Salzkammergut – all of whom actively bring the European spirit to life.
